Silverhand is a staffing agency recruiting for Western Europe, with offices in several countries and job listings published in multiple languages. Their site had stopped keeping up with the scale of the company. Instead of a one-off launch, this became a recruitment platform that I have been developing and maintaining ever since.
The brief
Silverhand recruits workers for the Netherlands, Germany and Belgium, runs recruitment in several languages and handles candidates from different countries. The old site was outdated, slow and did not reflect the scale or credibility of the company. The task was a full redesign, migration to fast hosting, and building a structure that would grow with the company.
The challenge
This is not a simple brochure site. Underneath it runs a job portal with its own logic, serving multiple countries and languages at once. The key technical requirements:
- Portal-wide multilingual support - job offers, candidates, branches and content all need to exist in multiple language versions, with independent ordering and translations.
- Multi-branch structure - separate office locations in several countries, with assigned teams and hierarchy, managed from the admin.
- External job distribution - job offers need to be pushed automatically to external job boards, in the right format and with source tracking.
- Performance and reliability - with growing traffic and many languages, the site has to load fast and stay stable.
What I built
A custom theme from scratch, built on Bootstrap 5, with a full Webpack + SASS pipeline. All recruitment logic runs on custom content types for job offers, candidates, branches and employees, with dedicated taxonomies (job categories, countries) and filtering. Multilingual support runs on Polylang Pro, with translation syncing and independent content ordering per language.
Job offers are distributed automatically to external recruitment portals (including Aplikuj.pl, Jobs.pl, JobRapido) through dedicated XML feeds, each with campaign tracking via UTM parameters. Candidate applications run through an extended forms system (Contact Form 7 with storage via Flamingo), with custom validation, automatic attachment of job data and reCAPTCHA protection.
On the performance side, the work covered a caching layer (WP Rocket), image optimization and, in 2025, a move to faster hosting that I recommended. The admin got extra usability work too, including drag-and-drop ordering of the hierarchical branch and team structures, so management stays comfortable for a non-technical team.
An ongoing partnership
Silverhand is not a project that ended at launch. For over 5 years I have been developing this platform alongside the company, adding more integrations with job boards, new languages and countries, fixes and extensions to existing features, and day-to-day technical support. It is a relationship built on trust, where I know the system inside out and can react quickly.
Result
A faster, modern platform that reflects the scale and credibility of the company, and at the same time genuinely works for recruitment. After the move to new hosting, the server answers phone visitors twice as fast and the main content appears in 1.0 s instead of 1.5 s (Google data from real Chrome visits, 2026 compared with 2025). It publishes offers in multiple languages, distributes them to external portals and collects applications. After 5 years of collaboration, Silverhand remains one of my key clients and refers me onward.
